Snapheal was great, now freezing

Yes a couple of years ago I purchased Snapheal for some easy photo editing.
It worked well, even through the change from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.
Withing the last few months , it will do exactly ZIPPO. The slightest attempt to
use the clone tool or anything else causes the app to freeze, with the “Spinning Wheel of Death”.
No amount of restarting will fix it. You must force quit to get out .
I would love to continue to use it, but 2.7 is a big 0.0 for me.
Any ideas would be helpful.
