Snapheal - Fix your photos. App Reviews

No edit undo?!?!

Why is there no ‘un-do’ button?! this frustrates and annoys the absolute hell out of me and I literally just purchsed this about 20 minutes ago. The first selection I made was erased and blended perfectly fine. The second object I selected and erased did not come out the same at all. The cloning tool only did so much to help fix and blend what was left from erasing the object. And of course because there’s no ‘un-do’ I had to completely start over.

its just ok….but there is something better

This app is ok, sometimes yielding decent results. Usually you get a strangely patterned output that is just not what you want. I would put the money for this app towards pixelmator (their “repair tool” does the same thing), which generally produces better results and has the advantage/bonus of being a full featured image editor (photoshop-like).

Just missing one thing

I have been using this app for a long time, and for what it is supposed to do, it does it well. Quick and easy. But, I wish it worked as a plug in for Photos in 10.11. I use Noiseless as a plug in and LOVE it. So easy to use. With Snapheal, I have to save the photo to the desktop, open it, do the work, save it back to Photos, and get rid of the original.

Ok, not great.

It would be great if this worked miracles. However, it doesn’t really work much better than using Photo’s retouching brush. It works well in a very simple background situation.

This is not the current version of this product

MacPhun sells the current version of Snapheal for $50. That version comes with plug-in support for Photos.app and, apparently, Aperture as well. What’s sold here is an older and more limited version of the app. It’s considerably less expensive, so I wouldn’t mind except that MacPhun doesn’t make this clear in their product description. That’s why it loses two stars.

Something’s wrong with version 2.9 & OS X 10.11.4

On my first launch of this app it wanted me to upgrade to “Snapheal CK” for $14.99 but I only needed to use it for a quick edit. There were artifacts and errors in a simple Erase a few things from one of my photos so I assumed it was a corrupted download which often happens so I deleted and reinstalled it. Then I thought on the fresh install I was mistaken and chose the wrong “Erase Mode” but again the image artifacts appeard on all settings. I’m assuming it just needs an update for 10.11.4 Until Snapheal is updated I used my stand by quick photo editor Livequartz the full version and for $6.99 it’ll do Snapheals job and many other photoshop type tasks. The developer updates it very often with bug fixes and new features, I highly recommend that everyone should consider giving Livequartz a try.
